I CHOSE TO SHOWCASE THIS SCREENPLAY BECAUSE I FEEL THAT IT REPRESENTS MY STYLE THE BEST. FOR A LONG TIME, I NOTICED THAT I USED DIALOGUE A LOT IN MY WRITING. FOR THIS, I WANTED TO CHALLENGE MYSELF TO USE LESS DIALOGUE, AND TO GET THE POINT ACROSS MORE WITH WHAT IS OBSERVABLE, AND LESS WITH THE CHARACTERS TELLING YOU WHAT TO THINK. I ENDED UP LIKING THIS A LOT MORE THAN ANY OTHER PROJECT IN THIS CLASS SO FAR. IF I WERE TO DO THIS AGAIN, I WOULD START FILMING A LOT EARLIER, SO THAT I COULD BE MORE PROUD OF THE FILM ITSELF.
ode to an inanimate object
AFTER READING "ODE TO MY SOCKS" BY PABLO NERUDA, OUR TASK WAS TO WRITE AN ODE TO AN INANIMATE OBJECT. I FIRST THOUGH OF MY SEWING MACHINE, BUT THAT SEEMS FAR TOO COMPLICATED, SO I CHOSE TO DO THE LAST NEEDLE IN MY SEWING DRAWER. I LIKED THIS A LOT, BECAUSE I FOCUSED MORE ON RHYTHM THAN RHYMING WITH THIS POEM, SO I ENJOYED IT MORE. IF I WERE TO DO IT AGAIN, I WOULD HAVE PUT MORE EFFORT INTO THE SYLLABLES. BECAUSE THE SYLLABLES IN THE FIRST LINE ALTERNATE FROM 8 SYLLABLES TO 9 SYLLABLES, BUT I DIDN'T ADJUST ANY OF THE PACING IN THE SECOND AND THIRD LINES.
